Functional Knowledge Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary point of contact with IT business line stakeholders to clarify and understand business requirements.
• Assess functional impacts while taking technical constraints into account, in collaboration with the technical lead.
• Present and explain functional elements of proposed changes or enhancements to the development team.
• Create detailed functional specifications or user stories for developers, based on high-level requirements or project documentation.
• Provide functional expertise and guidance to the technical development team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date functional documentation.

Functional Testing Responsibilities:

• Define and implement a testing strategy in coordination with the project manager or business analysts.
• Perform continuous testing in the development environment to monitor progress and quality.
• Develop functional unit test cases and broader system verification test scenarios.
• Support and monitor user acceptance testing, managing prioritization with the project manager.

Application Support Responsibilities:

• Provide second-level functional support for issues escalated from the first-level support team.
• Reproduce and conduct initial analysis of reported incidents by reviewing code logic and data inputs.
• Work with developers to analyze and resolve functional issues efficiently.

Qualifications and Profile

Work Experience:

• Over 12 years of experience as a Business Analyst within investment banking, specifically in Market Risk departments.
• Strong technical background, including proficiency with data models and SQL.
• Proven track record of effectively acting as a liaison between onshore business teams and offshore technical teams, as well as providing functional support to developers.
• Extensive hands-on experience in conducting functional testing and validating technical development.

Functional Expertise:

• In-depth knowledge of Market Risk, including PnL attribution, VaR, and Stress VaR analysis.
• Broad understanding of banking and financial industry principles.
• Experience working with market data such as volatilities, curves, and sensitivities.

Professional Skills and Mindset:

• Strong ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively in a structured and concise manner.
• Comfortable working with diverse, multicultural teams.
• Familiarity with project lifecycle methodologies.
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.
• Highly organized with excellent analytical and summarization skills.
• Proactive in gathering necessary information and working independently.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and data protection.

Desirable Skills:

• Background in Product Control, including PnL calculation and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of financial instruments such as Treasury products, FX, Credit, and Interest Rate Derivatives.
• Proficient with MS Office suite, MS SharePoint, MS Project, and MS Visio.
• Familiarity with UML diagrams and modeling techniques.
• Experience with business intelligence tools, data warehouses, and BusinessObjects.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including Basel I/II/III, SIMM, FRTB, and CVA.
