Responsibilities
- Design and implement machine processes to improve machine efficiency, reliability, and product quality.
- Conduct process corner studies to optimize key parameters and ensure machines operate within defined specifications.
- Analyze machine performance data to identify trends, improve accuracy, and resolve process-related issues.
- Develop and validate process control strategies to maintain consistent equipment performance and meet customer specifications.
- Lead equipment qualification activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Define and document machine technical requirements, including detailed specifications, SOPs, and risk assessments (PFMEA).
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment and process issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions using methodologies such as 8D and DMAIC.
- Collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and maintainability of new equipment.
- Support new product development by scaling prototypes for production readiness.
- Train manufacturing and customer service personnel on process standards, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Monitor and analyze equipment throughput by implementing improvement initiatives through process cycle time optimization.
- Evaluate new customer materials and components for compatibility with existing equipment and processes.
- Provide technical support for customer escalations, including in-house and on-site troubleshooting.
- Ensure machine compliance with regulatory requirements such as JDEC/EIA standards throughout product development and implementation.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce variation and improve machine process capability.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment performance and reduce operational costs.
Requirement
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related discipline.
- There is at least more than 3 years of experience in process or application engineering within semiconductor equipment manufacturing.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as MS Excel, JMP, or Minitab and methodologies (SPC, Six Sigma, Lean) is required.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor equipment design, process integration, and manufacturing principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams.
- Programming experience with MS Excel macros or Python is a plus.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher is highly desirable.
- Willingness to work onsite in customer environments approximately 20% of the time.
