Responsibilities:
- Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers in a 24×7 production environment.
- Install, configure and maintain network hardware and software, including user access, authentication and permission management.
- Monitor network health, availability and performance, conduct routine maintenance, and perform capacity planning.
- Design, implement and support hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centres and AWS cloud environments.
- Configure and manage AWS networking components, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, Network ACLs, VPNs and Direct Connect.
- Troubleshoot hybrid cloud connectivity issues and coordinate with telecommunications providers where required.
- Configure and manage firewalls, network segmentation, security zoning and access controls in accordance with IM8/government standards and PCI DSS requirements where applicable.
- Collaborate with Security Operations teams on vulnerability remediation, system hardening and incident response activities.
- Monitor network performance using SolarWinds, PRTG, CloudWatch or equivalent monitoring tools, and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Investigate and resolve network outages, connectivity issues, latency and packet loss while participating in major incident management and root cause analysis.
- Implement network changes in accordance with Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes, including validation, rollback planning and deployment support.
- Manage network connectivity with external partners, payment gateways and telecommunications providers, including vendor coordination and service provisioning.
- Design and support network redundancy, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, SOPs and operational runbooks.
- Recommend continuous improvements to enhance network performance, security and scalability.
- Provide after-hours operational support for planned maintenance, firmware and software upgrades, critical incidents and emergency network changes.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in network engineering or network operations supporting enterprise or large-scale mission-critical environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with AWS networking, including VPC, subnets, route tables, security groups, Network ACLs, VPN and Direct Connect. Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VPN technologies, network security, high availability and disaster recovery design.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls such as Palo Alto, Fortinet or Check Point, as well as load balancers and network troubleshooting tools including Wireshark, Ethereal and Traceroute.
- Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, Fortinet FCA/FCP or AWS CloudOps Engineer – Associate will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure production environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a proactive, accountable and collaborative working style.
- Willingness to provide after-hours support for production incidents, maintenance activities and network deployments.
