Our client is a reputable Energy/Shipping MNC. In view of expansion, they are currently seeking a well qualified candidate to join them as “Operations Manager (Bunkering)”.
In this role, your overall responsibilities will include :
- Oversee all bunkering operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and delivery.
- Plan the Company fleet of bunker vessels scheduled for loading, bunkering and Ship-to-Ship transfer operations (STS).
- Monitor fuel quality and quantity, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
- Liaise with the respective terminals or supplier representatives and comply to all the loading requirements.
- Evaluate purchase agreements to ensure alignment with commercial terms and to safeguard the company’s best interests. Provide bunker fuel details for loading, bunkering and STS to the cargo custody officers.
- Initiate and manage all bunker operations related continuous improvement projects.
- Lead, manage, and support the operations department, including Cargo Officers, and other relevant staff.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery and reduce operational costs.
- Manage the operations budget, ensuring financial discipline and accountability.
- Implement technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives within the operations department.
- Review company’s operation procedure and ensure compliance with all regulations (SS648, QMBS etc)
- Review and improve operations workflow efficiency and process (dissemination of job orders to Cargo Officers)
- Work with shipmanagement team to ensure all operation staff, including cargo officers, to be in compliance with all safety requirements while on board the vessel.
Requirements:
- Degree in related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the maritime or bunkering industry.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledgeable in marine industry especially bunkering related
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Candidates with cargo blending operation will be favourably considered, but not a requirement.
